Requirements?
Asbestos Contractors:Contractor applicants must submit evidence of workers compensation insurance, disability insurance and the name of the "designated supervisor" holding a current asbestos supervisor certificate.

The Bureau of Municipal Waste issues permits for disposal site and the methods of onsite disposal. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Bureau of Hazardous Waste Operations issues permits for the transportation of asbestos waste. The Department of Health Division of Occupational Health and Environmental Epidemiology and the Bureau of Occupational Health approve and maintain a list of asbestos safety training courses for asbestos workers.

The New York comptroller may require a payment bond before the approval of a public works contract.
